Emma Leahy
Emma joined Frank Buttimer & Company in 2006 while studying law in University College Cork and is a partner in the firm. Having graduated from University College Cork, Emma went on to qualify as an Attorney at Law in the State of New York in 2010 and was admitted to the Role of Solicitors in 2012. Emma is also admitted to the Role of Solicitors in England and Wales and has completed diplomas in Juvenile Justice and Healthcare Law.
Emma practices in the area of general litigation matters and has experience bringing and defending cases in the District, Circuit, and High Courts in personal injury actions, to include road traffic accidents, pedestrian accidents, workplace accidents, fatal accidents and also medical negligence actions.
Emma aims to bring a straightforward and practical approach to any issue. Emma is experienced in all areas of criminal defence work to include advising clients when detained in a Garda Station and representing clients appearing in the Juvenile Court.
Emma also has extensive experience in Wardship to include acting for the appointed Committee and acting as a Guardian ad Litem to a person in relation to whom a Wardship application has been initiated
